Tommy obtained his BA (Communication) and a BA Honours Degree in Advertising in 1991 and 1992 respectively. After completing his studies, he started working at the Johannesburg West voting district, where he was responsible for maintaining the voter’s roll data base as well as organising public meetings and gatherings in the Greater Johannesburg area.

After the 1994 elections, he left the political environment and joined the City Council of Pretoria, where he was appointed as media liaison officer.

In 2003, after eighteen months in the field as a real estate agent, he was head hunted by a developer in Fourways where Tommy were involved in sourcing vacant land to be developed as well as in the selling of other properties.

In 2006 Tommy was appointed as Regional Manager for the RealNet Central regions. His primary responsibilities were to build the RealNet brand, assist with the establishment of franchises in the Gauteng South area, to coordinate any regional marketing initiatives and events and to monitor and oversee the performance of the franchises in this region.        

Tommy has been a member of the Council of Residential Specialists (CRS) since 2007 and previously served as Director of the IEASA West Rand.
