The UMTALI COUNTRY INN's interior measurements are +-2,100m2 and offers the following:
2x Conference / wedding venues hosting up to 100 delegates / guests per seating in one venue. The conference venues provide the ideal setting for meetings, seminars, product launches, weddings or fashion shows. The smaller venue has a whiteboard, 2 flipcharts, a screen, overhead projector, video, TV and air-conditioning/heating. Upholstered chairs and proper conference tables are provided.

33 double bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms:
16 Superior rooms (32 guests) 6 of these rooms are newly renovated and beautiful.
11 Standard rooms (22 guests)
3 Family rooms (13 guests) there can be more family rooms it will depend on an enquire
3 Budget single rooms (3 guests)
All rooms are decorated beautifully, the linen is excellent, the towels of high standard, cloud nine beds and each room have a TV (SABC, eTV, DSTV), air-conditioning, tea/coffee facilities, door to the veranda, is wheel chair and child friendly and offers safe parking for your vehicle.

Aliwal North was founded in 1849 and named by the Governor of the Cape Sir Henry Smith, 1847-1852. Aliwal North achieved Municipal status in 1852, now known as: The Joe Gqabi District Municipality.
Another name for Aliwal North is Maletswai. Aliwal North or Maletswai is situated on the banks of the Gariep River in the Northern most part of the Eastern Cape in South Africa.
Aliwal-North has one of the country's most famous mineral springs, around which an attractive resort has been developed in the early19's. The main spring delivers over 2 million litres of water per day at a temperature of 35 degrees Centigrade, while a second spring delivers over 1
million litres daily. Several large swimming-pools, one of which is enclosed, are fed by these springs and there are also private baths, a Turkish bath and a
massage centre. Unfortunately the whole resort / complex has become completely run down and derelict.
I had the privilege to live and work in Aliwal North for 17 years. I love the people, I love the town and I "knew" what the town down in
the 80's and 90's offered us. It saddened me to see how the town deteriorated since I left in August 1997. It went from a booming town into a town with a
"heart sore brokenness" in the streets and buildings.
HOWEVER, I really believe that there is someone out there, someone with a VISION, someone with a PASSION to uplift communities, to give
back to life what God gives him/her.
Aliwal North has the POTENCIAL to boom again! Aliwal North has the POTENCIAL to be the LEADING town in the area. Aliwal North has a GREAT
future.
