Halfway Gardens mainly consists of residential security complexes and Estates with a majority of resident being a young middle class population. The area has a mixture of security complexes and free standing houses inhabited by both a younger middle class (in complexes) and middle to mature age population (more in free standing houses).
A number of schools are housed in this area, including Midrand High, Halfway House Primary and a number of day cares and crèches. The twin shopping centres of Carlswald Lifestyle and San Ridge are found here. Varsity Waterfall is 5 to 10 minutes drive from different sections of the area. Halfway Garden is one of the most established areas of Midrand especially for the middle class.
