Ferndale is located in Randburg and it falls under Region B of the Metropolitan City of Johannesburg. This is a very central suburb and has a good mix of residential homes, commercial properties and shops. There is also a newly upgraded shopping mall along Republic Road, which used to be Bright

This lovely suburb also has a number of Gautrain bus stops along Republic Road and has a public clinic in the heart of Randburg.
Ferndale also has a Police Station which is next to Randburg Magistrate's court within the suburb and also a number of hotels, Guest Houses and Bed and Breakfasts.
